Notable Alumni

Though all of the alumni of Antietam Bible College, Biblical Seminary and Graduate School are notable in the fact that they are working for the Lord in ministries where He has called them, the following stand out as being in a notable category in the more traditional sense of the word:


Dr. Robert Boyd (deceased) - According to his biography on Amazon.com, "Robert T. Boyd holds a B.A. degree from Washington Bible College and both M.Div. and D.Min. degrees from Antietam Biblical Seminary, Hagerstown, Maryland. He has also done further study at Wheaton College, Baptist Bible Seminary, and Philadelphia College of Bible. He has served as a pastor and conference speaker throughout the U.S. and Canada, traveled extensively in the Middle East, and conducted archaeological research in Israel and in leading museums and libraries around the world."
His writings include World's Bible Handbook, Born to Die: Understanding Christ's Life, Paul the Apostle, His Life and Times, Boyd's Handbook of Practical Apologetics, and Tells, Tombs and Treasures: a Pictorial Guide to Biblical Archaeology.


Dr. Leland F. Dittman - According to his ZoomInfo Business Profile, "Dr. Leland Dittman did his undergraduate studies at Liberty Baptist College, which is now Liberty University. He also attended the Institute for Biblical Studies. He received his Masters degree from Luther Rice Seminary in Jacksonville, FL and his Doctor of Ministry from Antietam Biblical Seminary and Graduate School in Hagerstown, Maryland. He has served as Senior Pastor of Cedar Brook Bible Church in Cedar Brook, NJ, Coatesville Bible Fellowship in Coatesville, PA, First Baptist Church in Toms River, NJ, and Grace Chapel in Sanford, NC. He served as Senior Pastor of North Syracuse Baptist Church from January 1998 through October 2006. Dr. Dittman is the new Director of Liberty Baptist Fellowship which is the church planting arm of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. He also serves on the boards of County Corrections Gospel Mission in Coatesville, PA, and Davis College (formerly Practical Bible College) in Binghamton, NY."


Mr. K. Dayton Hartman - According to his autobiographical information on his blog, "[He is an] SBC minister....[He has] earned a B.S. in Pastoral Studies from Antietam Bible College and an M.A. of Global Apologetics from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary....[He is] an instructor of apologetics at Antietam Bible College and a contributing author for various apologetics ministries (www.answeringislam.org and www.bethinking.org). [He has] a passion for apologetics, philosophy, theology, discipleship, and evangelism. 'It is my desire to see every Christian actively involved in a local church body that is purposefully equipping believers to understand what they believe and how to defend it.'"


Dr. Paul Kaufman - He is a professor at Hobe Sound Bible College in Hobe Sound, Florida (www.hsbc.edu). He is a Full Professor—B.A., 1973, Allegheny Wesleyan College; 1981, Th.M., Antietam Seminary; 1982, Th.D., Antietam Seminary; 1983, M.A. Hebrew University/Johns Hopkins University; 1989, S.T.M., Lutheran Theological Seminary (Gettysburg); 1994, Ph.D., Kent State University.2004-


Mr. Dennis Layton - He is a professor of Bible and History at Arlington Bible College and Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. He has a bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University and a Master's from Antietam Biblical Seminary.


Mr. Scott F. Marsh - According to the Texas Christian Church webpage, "Scott F. Marsh...graduated summa cum laude from St. Paul (MN) Bible College in 1986.  He later earned an M.A. degree at Antietam Biblical Seminary in Hagerstown, MD. Scott founded the New Hope Alliance Church in Winchester, VA, in 1987, before moving to Central Illinois in 1989. Scott accepted the call to minister at Texas Christian Church in Clinton, IL, in 2001.  Shortly thereafter, he founded the Biblical Institute for Laymen--a program that teaches Bible college courses free of charge, designed for the layman as opposed to the professional student....Scott is the author of five books: Down Ross Road, a historical novel about his mother's ancestors; Armed and Ready, a joint exposition of Joshua and Ephesians, and Building God's House, an exposition of Haggai, and The Grand Finale of Human History, a brief commentary on Revelation, and The Subtle Sides of Pride."


Dr. John Pugh - He earned a Th.M. at Antietam Biblical Seminary and has served as a professor and the chair of the Biblical Counseling Department at Lancaster Bible College. According to the Christian Counseling of Lancaster county website, "John Pugh Ph.D. has an MS from Capital Bible Seminary, an MA from Shippensburg University, and a Ph.D. from Walden University. He has 11 years of pastoral experience and has been a licensed psychologist since 1993. He is a Fellow member of the Prescribing Psychologists' Register." He has also written a book entitled, Christian Formation Counseling: The Work of the Spirit in the Human Race.


Mr. Frank Andrews Shimkus - According to his biography on Wikipedia.com, "Frank Andrews Shimkus (born 1952) is a retired broadcaster and Democratic politician in Pennsylvania....Shimkus earned a master's degree in theology from Antietam Bible College in 1993 and a doctorate in Biblical studies from the same institution two years later. He currently serves as the part-time pastor of Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ in Scranton. Shimkus resigned from WYOU in March 2006 to run for the state house, winning a 5-way democratic primary to succeed the retiring Gaynor Cawley in a district that included almost 60 percent of Scranton. He went on to easily win the general election."
