About Us
Antietam Bible College, Biblical Seminary & Graduate School is located in the historic Shenandoah Valley. Gettysburg and Antietam Battlefields, as well as Harpers Ferry, are nearby. Several large cities, such as Baltimore and Washington, DC, are within easy driving distance. Numerous state and national parks, ski facilities, golf courses, and other recreational facilities are in the area.
We are easily accessible via Interstates 70 and 81. Air, rail, and bus connections are available in Hagerstown to and from all major cities. The population of Hagerstown is over 37,500, and growing. Both a community college and large business college are located in town. Frostburg State University and University of Maryland satellite campuses are in Hagerstown as well.
Under the confident leadership of chancellor and founder Dr. William Freed, Jr., Antietam Bible College opened its doors in 1976 as Broadfording Christian College. The college expanded in 1979 by opening Broadfording Biblical Seminary. Now known respectively as Antietam Bible College and Antietam Biblical Seminary & Graduate School, ABC is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International, and is an accredited member of Transworld Accrediting Commission. Please contact our office for more information on accreditation.
Areas of study include: Bible, Christian Elementary Education, Christian Secondary Education, Church Education, Missions, Pastoral Studies, Church Secretarial and Business Administration. The programs and courses equip students to be godly pastors, missionaries, teachers, church secretaries and administrators. Although many of our Antietam graduates generally pursue Christian vocations, course work fulfills many essential requirements for other careers. The college offers a variety of courses for young, older, and married students, a library, a student lounge, access to science and computer labs, summer school, evening and Saturday classes, life-experience credit and directed studies.
